Festival of Bands

Rockville High School Festival of Bands 2012 will take place Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. Activities will include a 20th anniversary show; 15 bands from around Connecticut and Massachusetts, including two college marching bands (CCSU and UMASS); nearly 1,000 musicians and color guard members will take the field in competition (band sizes range from 40 to 350). The students learn and memorize three pieces of music and complex marching patterns (this year’s RHS show features music from Les Miserable). RHS will compete in five competitions leading up to the New England Regions on Nov. 3 in Bridgeport.
