Free watercolor workshop

A free watercolor workshop for beginners is being offered by local artist and instructor Beth Parys and is sponsored by the Vernon Community Arts Center. This class will begin by learning about materials and trying basic techniques. Students will then go on to paint a finished picture. No previous art experience is necessary and all needed materials will be provided for a material fee of $5. This workshop will take place at the Vernon Community Arts Center, 709 Hartford Tpk., Route 30, Vernon, on Oct. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Ongoing weekly classes will also be offered.
