The CT Audubon Society/Glastonbury, 1361 Main St., Glastonbury is offering the following events. For more information call 860-633-8402 or visit www.ctaudubon.org. Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m.: Celtic fiddler and singer Lissa Schneckenburger brings new life to old ballads, www.lissafiddle.com. Light refreshments will be available, admission: $15 members, $17 non-members, call to reserve a seat. Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to noon: guided nature walks in Earle Park. Nature lover and bird watcher Ellen Castildini invites adults and children to join her for guided nature walks in Earle Park. The pace is moderate, with some up and down hills. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are permitted. Walks leave from the CT Audubon Center the second Saturday of every month and continue year-round, conditions permitting. Call ahead to sign up. A walk may be cancelled if no one has registered. Fees are CAS members $3, non-members $5. Oct. 28 at 3 p.m.: "Snakes, Spiders and Other Creepy Crawly Sorts" with Diane Lang, naturalist and children's author. These creatures have their place in nature. The cost is $10 per family or $5 for adults, $3 for children. Call to reserve a seat. Oct. 27 from 1 to 3 p.m.: "Elements of Photo Composition." Chris Rakoczy, a professional photographer and past photo contest judge will explain the elements of photo composition and how to use visual grammar with intent and purpose. Afterwards there will be light refreshments and an open question session about photography. All skill levels are encouraged to attend. Bring your digital camera.
