COLCHESTER- National Make a Difference Day is Oct. 27 and the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students at St. Andrew’s Church in Colchester, invite the community to help with their project. The children are trying to assist the Haitian Health Foundation by providing flip flops, shoes, new underwear, hygiene products, school supplies, back packs and any items that will assist the Haitian people to live a better life. The ladies of St. Andrew’s sewing group have had a wonderful time socializing while they made pillow case dresses. Others have worked or donated funds to purchase a goat that will help answer hunger, since the donated goat is pregnant and the Haitian people do make cheese and utilize the milk for the children. The project is titled “Flip Flops and Much More.” For more information or to volunteer, contact Cathy at 860-887-9621 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you wish to purchase a goat the cost is $150. Checks should be made out to the Haitian Health Foundation and in the memo area please note the name you want to give to the goat. The Foundation will send you a picture of your named goat and the family receiving the goat. Donations can be left in the boxes located in the entrance areas of the church.
