Leaf collection schedule

KILLINGLY- The town of Killingly will conduct its leaf collection Nov. 5 through Dec. 7. Bagged leaves are picked up by appointment only. Leaves must be bagged and placed next to the street at the scheduled times for collection. Dates and times will not be rescheduled. Town Ordinance requires that kraft paper sacks, 30-gallon capacity (minimum) be used. No plastic bags. Please do not rake leaves into street. Please do not dispose of raked leaves at the end of dead-end streets. Only leaves will be collected. Please do not mix with branches, yard waste (such as potted plants) or garbage. You may choose to take your leaves to the landfill yourself. You will not need a permit (for leaves only) from Nov. 1 until Dec. 22. Landfill is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 8 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. All plastic bags must be emptied. Beginning Nov. 1, Killingly residents may call 860-779-5385 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to schedule an appointment for pickup.
