Tax aide volunteers

COLCHESTER- AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service. Millions of low-to moderate-income people, especially those 60 and older, need help preparing their taxes. This very important service to seniors has been offered for many years at the Colchester Senor Center. Due to a lack of volunteers last year, our tax aide hours were cut in half. Without volunteers from Colchester we may lose the program entirely. You do not need to be an accountant and training is provided. You can volunteer for as little as 8 hours during tax season to help us meet the requirement of having a Colchester resident helping this coming tax season. Volunteer for AARP Foundation Tax-Aide and make sure that our seniors get all the deductions and credits they deserve. You'll be helping people in your own community with a much-needed service that's free, individualized and has no strings attached.
