The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans' Day. Refuse and recycling will not be collected on that day but instead will be collected on Nov. 13 along with that day's collection. Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station free of charge on Wednesdays and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m. The Transfer Station will be closed on Nov. 11.
