Veterans Day assembly

COVENTRY- In Coventry, students and staff of the Capt. Nathan Hale School will be celebrating Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 9 with a special school-wide assembly. This event, which is open to the public, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Veterans Auditorium at 78 Ripley Hill Road in Coventry. All veterans are cordially invited to attend. Students organizing this event believe it is important to have such a program to teach the reason for the observance of Veterans Day and the importance of veterans to our country. This year’s program will feature student readings from the children’s book: "Don’t Forget, God Bless Our Troops," by Jill Biden, and original student poetry that share personal stories of veterans who have had an impact on their lives, neighborhood, and/or community. Students and staff of the Capt. Nathan Hale School look forward to presenting their Veterans Day program to the community.
