Bickford Health Care Center will hold a presentation entitled “Baking for a Diabetic Diet” on Nov. 14 from 2 to 3 p.m. The presentation is free of charge and will be held at Bickford Health Care Center, 14 Main St., Windsor Locks. Conducted by Registered Dietician Pat Jeans and Food Service Director Arthur Barnes, the presentation will focus on a number of aspects of preparing healthy and delicious meals by showcasing ingredients and cooking techniques. In this presentation, they will introduce some sweet and sugar alternatives when cooking and baking, just in time for the holiday season. All participants will receive a free gift, enjoy samples of various recipes and learn about how to prepare healthier meals at home. Due to limited seating, reservations are required by calling 860-623-4351.
