Emergency services food drive

The “Emergency of Hunger” Food Drive is a team effort by public safety and hospital providers with the support of area Rotary Clubs and Stop and Shop stores. Food, personal care items, turkeys, cash and gift cards are collected at the grocery store entrance by firefighters, police officers and Explorers, EMTs, paramedics, doctors, nurses, Rotarians and more. The drive started in Manchester and with and has grown to five locations in four towns. Windsor EMS has partnered with Windsor Fire and Police Departments, Social Services and the Windsor-Windsor Locks Rotary Club to benefit the Windsor, Windsor Locks and East Granby Food Pantries. The food drive will take place on the following days and in the following Stop and Shop locations: Vernon Nov. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 10 Pitkin Road; Rockville Nov. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 50 Windsorville Road; Manchester Nov. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 286 Broad Street; South Windsor Nov. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1739 Ellington Road; and Windsor Nov. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1095 Kennedy Road.
