Help them help others

Andover - posted Nov, 09 2012

ANDOVER- Andover’s Norton Commission has had a long history of providing funding to needy children in the community. Over the past several years the Norton Commission has experienced an ever increasing demand for assistance. Because of the low interest being paid on investments the money earned is just not keeping pace with the need and today the Norton Commission depends to a great extent on the generous donations of local residents. The Norton Commission meets twice a year to dispense funds, to the needy children of Andover. The Commission meets once in November for Holiday Gift giving and again in the early summer to help with back-to-school supplies. This past summer the Norton Commission helped 20 children from 12 families. The Holiday need is expected to be even greater. If you would like to help the needy children of Andover this year please consider making a donation to the Norton Children’s Fund that will be used to bring joy and necessities to an Andover child this year. Or consider making a contribution directly to the Norton Children’s Fund principal where your gift will continue to give every year. Your Tax deductable check may be sent to: Norton Commission, c/o Andover Town Office Building, 17 School Road, Andover, CT 06232.
