Holiday projects

WILLIMANTIC- The Social Work Club will also be sponsoring an ADOPT-A-FAMILY Holiday project and Toy Drive. The families will be adopted through The Windham Area Interfaith Ministries (WAIM) also in Willimantic. This program gives families in crisis an opportunity to joyfully celebrate the holidays through the love of a neighbor. The families up for adoption are referred to WAIM through local social service providers. They are families who are in the midst of crisis – financial, emotional, spiritual and/or physical and needing a lift in spirit. These neighbors are truly in need of a little tender loving care and our generosity. The Social Work Club's goal is to raise $5,000 in order to adopt five large families and they are seeking donations towards this cause. The Social Work Club will be having several bake sales throughout the months of October and November to be held in the student center. November dates have not yet been determined. The bake sale proceeds is for our November ADOPT-A-FAMILY Holiday event. We are asking for everyone's support through the purchase of baked goods or through donation of $1, toys or whatever they desire to give.
