Through Dec. 20 Thrifty Treasures Thrift Shop will begin its campaign for Toys for Tots via USMC Charlie Company. All toys collected will be handed out to Connecticut children in every county of the state. If you do not have time to pick up a new unwrapped toy then there will be a jar to donate change. Also, non-perishable and unexpired food items will be accepted for donation to the local food bank. Thrifty Treasures is located at 1285 Hartford Tpke., Vernon and can be reached at 860-796-6872 for more information and is on Facebook.
