The Last Green Valley, Inc. (TLGV) has launched its annual appeal with the theme, “We All Live Downstream.” The organization has worked for 18 years to sustain the watershed of the National Heritage Corridor. Its 2012 Annual Appeal will raise funds to replace the disappearing federal funding that started its important work. The goal for this year is $300,000. The 35 towns of the National Heritage Corridor are still abundantly green with 78 percent forests and farm lands. The land is drained through a remarkable watershed that includes hundreds of lakes and ponds, and miles of rivers and streams. “We All Live Downstream” aptly describes the dependence that residents of The Last Green Valley have on a healthy environment. Residents wishing to support the TLGV 2012 Annual Appeal may donate online at www.thelasetgreenvalley.org/shop or send their contribution to The Last Green Valley, Inc., P.O. Box 29, Danielson, CT 06239-0029. For further information, inquire at Mail@tlgv.org or phone 860-774-3300.
