WILLIMANTIC- A special Holiday Shop at the Windham Textile & History Museum will showcase the work of local artists and crafters during the month of December. Beginning Friday, Nov. 30 and ending Sunday, Dec. 23, each weekend will feature different vendors. There is no admission charge and all sales will benefit the museum. Handmade items such as herb lotions and salves, folk art, painted table runners, knitted children's sweaters, and quilts, as well as framed pastels, watercolors, and oils, will be available. Unusual jewelry, including pieces representing the Victorian era and the Suffragette Movement, and dichroic pendants will also be for sale. For holiday decorating, there will be boxwood, nut swags, wreaths from local boughs and kissing balls. These unique items will be displayed in the museum's Gift Shop, which also has books, cards, prints and other items for holiday gifts. Some of the museum's merchandise will also be on sale. The Holiday Shop and Gift Shop are open during regular museum hours: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 411 Main Street, Willimantic.
