Windsor Locks - posted Nov, 15 2012

On Nov. 23 Santa’s Workshop comes to the New England Air Museum. Santa, his favorite Christmas elf, and Frosty the Snowman will meet with and pose for photos with children between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Elf will also be making balloon animals, cotton candy, and Santa will have a gift for each child. On this day the museum will also be conducting ‘Behind-the-Scenes’ tours which will give visitors the opportunity to take a close-up look at some of the current restoration projects including the P-51D Mustang Racer, the Douglas DC-3 passenger aircraft, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, a U.S. Navy Blimp Car from WWII, several vintage engines and more. The museum’s research library will also be open. Don’t forget to check out the Museum’s new Flight Sim Spot, an exhibit using the latest in flight simulator software where visitors can virtually fly any aircraft, anywhere using the same cockpit controls that pilots use. All of the special activities for this day are included with the price of admission. The New England Air Museum is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Sunday and is located in Windsor Locks, adjacent to Bradley International Airport. Admission is $12 for adults, $11 for seniors and $6.50 for children aged 4-12, or free for children age 3 and under. For more information visit neam.org.
