Thanksgiving schedule

The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Nov. 22 and 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Refuse and recycling normally collected on Friday will be collected Nov. 26, along with that day’s route. Residents are reminded that excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station located on Hockanum Boulevard free of charge (permit & punchcards would not be required) year-round. Normal hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m.
