Writing for children

VERNON - The Vernon Community Arts Center is offering the class Writing for Children: the basics. This course will teach how to write a story suitable for a specific age group; how to edit it to professional standards; how to market it to publishers and agents, or how to self-publish it. Instructor Pegi Deitz Shea is a two-time winner of the Connecticut Book Award and author of 16 children’s books, as well as hundreds of poems, essays and articles for adult readers. The class sessions are three Mondays, Nov. 26, Dec 3 and 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. The fee is $150. This workshop will be held at the VCAC, 709 Hartford Tnpk., Route 30, Vernon.
