Citizen of the Year

EAST HAMPTON—For the 16th year, the East Hampton Village Lions Club is again conducting their search for East Hampton’s Citizen of the Year. If you know of an individual who has made a difference in the East Hampton community throughout their lives, you may nominate them for the 2013 East Hampton Citizen of the Year. Nomination letters describing the individual and their accomplishments may be forwarded within the next month to: East Hampton Village Lions Club, P.O. Box 14, East Hampton, CT 06424. The club will accept nominations until Dec. 12, 2012. The award winner’s name will be added to the list of outstanding citizens on the plaque at the East Hampton Public Library. Previous recipients include Charles Nichols, Gladys Smith, Emma Prince, Ronald Christopher, Monica Murray, Frederick Everett, Joseph Becker, Eugene Hubbard, Ray Krupa, Cindy Sorvillo Baloga, Dennis Erickson, Dennic Ingraham, Sr., JoAnn Ewing, Robert “Red” McKinney, and this year’s 2012 recipient, Joan Youngs. The East Hampton Village Lions Club awards each recipient with a personal plaque for their home and invites them to a dinner in their honor. In addition to recognizing them at the Connecticut Lions recognition banquet, the committee will honor this year’s recipient on a more personal level, this spring.
