South Windsor history will be on display for the Christmas 2012 Walk of Homes on Old Main Street Dec. 14. The holiday tour is sponsored biennially by the South Windsor Historical Society to raise funds for the maintenance of the organization’s Pleasant Valley District 5 Schoolhouse Museum and the renovation of the Union District School. Eight homes ranging from 18 to 252 years old reflect several styles and eras with a variety of holiday and heritage decor. Tickets, at $20 per person, are available at Wood Memorial Library, 783 Main St., Crandall & Daughter, 544 Buckland Road and Broad Brook Gardens, 938 Sullivan Ave. Music and refreshments will also be available during the tour. At the historic First Congregational Church, 993 Main St., a South Windsor High School ensemble will present a varied program of music, and the United Church Women will serve refreshments.“Timothy Edwards,” the congregation’s 18th century pastor, will make a guest appearance. Wood Memorial Library, 776 Main St., will host the last day of its gingerbread house exhibit, with refreshments served by library volunteers and musical selections.
