Call for artists

Community Renewal Team is giving area artists a chance to showcase their local color as part of the National Arts Program now through Jan. 4. Artists of all ages who live in Greater Hartford or in Middlesex County are invited to submit an original work of art, created within the past three years, for judging and a gallery display at Capital Community College. Works in all forms of visual arts are welcome. To enter, participants are encouraged to pre-register by Jan. 4 and must deliver their works of art to the Capital Community College Lobby at 950 Main St., Hartford, between 2 and 5 p.m., Jan. 7-10. Only the first 350 entries will be accepted. A free, public gallery showing will be held Jan. 21 – Feb. 5 at Capital Community College, open 7 a.m. – 10 p.m., M-F; and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday.
