HAMPTON- Ann Gruenberg was officially re-elected as Vice President for Government Relations of the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) during the organization’s annual convention recently at the Mystic Marriott in Groton. Ms. Gruenberg currently serves as Vice President for Government Relations, and previously as Chairman of the Federal Relations and Resolutions Committees. She has been a member of the Hampton Board of Education since 2001, having served as Vice Chairman, Policy Committee chair, and EASTCONN alternate representative. She has served in leadership positions on numerous local and regional bodies addressing school readiness, and is a graduate of the CABE Leadership Institute. As Vice President for Government Relations, Ms. Gruenberg will chair the Government Relations Committee and advise the President on all issues before the committee or the resolutions, state relations or federal relations subcommittees. The Vice President appoints with the approval of the President the three subcommittee chairpeople. Under Ms. Gruenberg’s supervision, the Government Relations Committee proposes for action by the members at the Delegate Assembly, resolutions that further the interest of public education in accordance with the purposes and objectives of the Association. In turn, the Vice President, along with all committee members acts for the Association in promoting a government relations program that is based upon the resolutions approved by the CABE Delegate Assembly.
