EAST HAMPTON- Members of the East Hampton High School football team, cheerleaders and band, sold more than 8,000 raffle tickets as part of the football team’s largest fundraising event of the season. The football team participates in a co-op arrangement with Vinal Technical High School in Middletown, where the East Hampton portion of the team is 100 percent self-funded. The high seller, EHHS senior Andrew Ferchaw, sold 130 tickets. As an incentive, his $400 participation fee was refunded. J. Jarvis won the $1,000 Stop & Shop grand prize. J. Geis won a $500 gift certificate to Target, and Roger Law won the $250 gift certificate to Citgo. Winning tickets were pulled by Frank D’Anna, president of the East Hampton Youth Football League. The East Hampton High School Football program is lead by the Friends of East Hampton Football parent group. It relies solely on fundraising and the generous support of the community to provide East Hampton athletes the opportunity to play high school football. No student will be turned away if they cannot afford the participation fee. New members are always welcomed and encouraged to join the team.
