The Hazardville Family Resource Center will offer a free parenting course geared to parents of children ages one to five. Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) was developed to provide parents with practical alternatives to meet the challenges of raising children today. This seven-week program will provide some logical and progressive steps to help you provide structure, consistency, positive discipline techniques and more effective communications in dealing with your children. The series runs seven consecutive Thursday nights beginning Jan. 10 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Family Resource Center located at Hazardville Memorial School, 68 North Maple St., Enfield. Child care and a textbook will be provided. You must pre-register to attend by calling 860-253-6580.
