Alliance Grant
Windsor - posted Dec, 19 2012
The Connecticut State Department of Education has given approval for the Windsor Public Schools to amend its Alliance Grant application to incorporate the cost of conducting the Equity and Excellence Review authorized by the Windsor Board of Education on Sept. 12, 2012. The approval of the amendment to the Alliance grant means that the State Department of Education has granted permission for the district’s request to use funding provided in the state grant to pay for all costs associated with the Equity and Excellence Review. An Equity and Excellence Review is an action-research professional development model designed to build and organize the capacity of communities and schools to meet the academic, emotional and social needs of culturally and economically diverse learners. The process will take three years and draws upon 60 years of educational research for creating excellent schools serving racially and economically diverse learners.
