Introduction to drawing

Learn about values, grid and contour drawing, portraiture, perspective, observation techniques and negative space. Complete one grid drawing, one self-portrait and one perspective drawing. Bring pencils, erasers, a sharpener and a sketch pad (minimum 16 by 20 inches) to the first class. Additional supplies will be discussed at that time. Instructor Amy McConnell Burris has degrees in art and French. She has taught abroad and in area schools since 1990. Since 2007, she has taught a variety of art courses at MCC. During the month of March, she will have a solo watercolor exhibit at South Windsor Library. The class dates are Tuesdays, Feb. 5 through March 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. The fee is $125.
