Pitkin Glass gingerbread house

Manchester - posted Jan, 18 2013

A gingerbread replica of the remains of the Pitkin Glass Works is currently on display at the Manchester History Center at 175 Pine St., through Feb. 1. Daughters of the American Revolution members Caroline Taylor and Linda Jones created the work with the support of the Orford Parish – Pitkin DAR Chapter. Original examples of locally-made Pitkin glass items are on exhibit at the Old Manchester Museum at 126 Cedar St., which is open to the public from May through December annually and by appointment by calling the museum at 860-647-9742 or the history center at 860-647-9983. For more information visit www.glassmuseum.org and www.manchesterhistory.org. The Museum of Connecticut Glass is located in Coventry.
