NORWICH- “Take Your Child to the Library Day” is Saturday, Feb. 2. Otis Library in Norwich has the following activities planned for that day. Paws-itive Reading Days . Noon – 1 p.m., Spend 15 minutes of special reading time with a registered pet therapy dog. The dogs are gentle, loving, well trained and experienced. They love to listen to stories read by children! For Pre-K – 5th grade. Space is limited; registration is required. Meet the author: 1 p.m., Carol Majewski will entertain both young and old with a reading from her book “Room for One More.” This is an endearing book about her dog Maxwell, who will be on hand to show us a few tricks! Maxwell has been an Otis Library Pet Therapy Reading dog for years! Drop-in for this program during “Take Your Child to the Library Day”. Drop-in Valentine's Day craft: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. or while supplies last. Drop in on “Take Your Child to the Library Day” and help them create a whimsical heart craft! We’ll supply the craft materials and you and your child can make a heart project to keep – or give away as a gift for someone special! Best for ages 3 – 11. Drop-in. This program is made possible by a grant from Walmart. Beach Yoga stories" by Earth Friends Discovery Yoga, 11-11:45 a.m. Tired of winter? Celebrate “Take Your Child to the Library” Day! Come to a refreshing morning of stretching your body and mind through yoga and stories! Earth Friends Discovery Yoga is built around a series of stories that are designed for the young in years and of heart. Sponsored by The Norwich Recreation Department. For ages 3 and up. Parents are welcome. Registration is now being taken.
