Anniversary celebration

SOUTH WINDSOR- The South Windsor Fire Department is celebrating 75 years of dedicated service to its community. On Sept. 20, 21, and 22, the department will be hosting the 2013 Connecticut Firefighters Association annual convention. Events occurring that weekend will include a parade, a firefighter's muster, and a town-wide celebration complete with food and entertainment. On Friday, Feb. 22, from 6-11 p.m., a kick-off event will be held at Maneeley's in South Windsor. There will be hors d'oevres, a buffet dinner, open bar, dancing, raffles and auctions.
