Killingly - posted Feb, 22 2013
KILLINGLY- The Killingly HIstorical and Genealogical Society will be hosting a program on how to care for gravestones on Saturday, March 2. The program is free and open to the public. The program will cover such topics as cleaning, types of adhesives and cement that can be used, material handling equipment and hand tools needed, and how to adopt a cemetery. This program will be helpful if you are interested in caring for your family headstones or footstones, if you have adopted a cemetery, or are one of our volunteers working on our cemetery project. This program will also be helpful to other societies in the area who would like information on obtaining grants, recruiting volunteers and agencies to contact for help. The program will be held at the Killingly Historical Center, 196 Main St., Danielson, at 1:30 p.m. There will be a membership at 1 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Any questions about the program please contact Lynn LaBerge at 860-774-5364 or 860-779-7250.
