ANDOVER-The Andover Norton Children’s Fund Commission will once again be offering a scholarship to a deserving Andover high school senior to help finance their post high school education. The Norton Commission scholarship is offered to any and all high school students and is not based on financial need. In the recent past the scholarship has been in danger of not being offered because of a lack of funding. Thanks to the generous outpouring from the community there is now enough money in the fund to allow the Commission to offer the scholarship. Scholarship application forms are available at the Town Office Building or at the Guidance Counselor’s office at RHAM high school. An application form may be requested by e-mail from the Norton Commission’s Secretary at Deardianne@comcast.net. The deadline for receiving completed scholarship application forms is May 17, 2013. Completed applications should be sent to the Norton Commission, c/o Andover Town Office Building, 17 School Road, Andover, CT 06232. Commission members will meet in early June to select the recipient of this year’s scholarship, as well as the allocation of funds for next year’s back-to-school needs. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Norton Children’s Fund may send a check to: Norton Commission, c/o Andover Town Office Building, 17 School Road, Andover, CT 06232.
