Funds available for home repairs

REGION - Does your home need repairs? The Town of Ellington Regional Housing Rehabilitation Program has funds available from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development's Small Cities Program for Housing Rehabilitation. Financial assistance is available in the form of grants and no interest loans with no monthly payments. Some of the work includes carpentry; roofing; septic; well; plumbing; heating; electrical; handycap accessibility; and other repair work on single and multifamily units up to four units. Eligibility: All Ellington, Somers and Suffield homeowners with incomes below the following limits, or owner-occupant of up to four family buildings when all households meet the following income guidelines: One person - $45,500; two person - $52,000; three person - $58,500; four person - $65,000; five person - $70,200; and six person - $75,400. Applications are available for download on the Town of Ellington's website, or apply in person on Tuesdays at the Ellington Community Development office, 55 Main Street, Ellington.
