Garden club meets

MANCHESTER - The monthly meeting of the Manchester Garden Club will be held on Monday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Center Congregational Church, 11 Center Street, Manchester. The guest speaker will be Carole Miller. Miller is the owner of the Topmost Herb Farm in Coventry, and manages the farm in concert with nature, without the use of pesticides or commercial fertilizers. She advocates a way of gardening which produces healthier crops and robust plants while enriching the soil and providing a lesson in the interconnection of all life. The farm produces both culinary and medicinal herbs; Miller will be discussing herbal lore and history, organic growing techniques, including organic culinary herbs and tea. Guests are welcome to attend; a $5.00 donation is suggested.
