Prescription drug card
Colchester - posted Mar, 01 2013
COLCHESTER- Colchester residents have had the Discount Prescription Drug Card for two full months and have saved a total of over $59,000. Since the inception of the program in October 2012, residents in the 20 participating towns and cities have saved a total of over $190,000 on prescription drugs. Specifically, in January, Colchester residents have purchased prescription drugs at a full market value of over $61,000, but paid a total of only $6,600. Discounts on prescription drugs are based on the value of the drug and savings will vary. Residents who do not have a discount card or have lost theirs can obtain one by going to the Town website (www.colchesterct.gov) and clicking on the “Rx” link on the front page, go to Youth & Social Services in Town Hall, or go to any participating pharmacy in Town. The discount card may be used for those residents who do not have insurance or are underinsured. Cards may also be used on prescription drugs that are not covered in your insurance plan. Cards cannot be used on drugs covered by an insurance plan. Medicare – Part D users can also benefit from the card. For more information, please contact the First Selectman’s Office at 860-537-7220, townhall@colchesterct.gov , or stop by the office in the Town Hall during regular business hours.
