SUFFIELD- Services have been planned to provide an opportunity to observe the dramatic events of Holy Week leading up to the Sunday Easter Festival Worship Service at First Church of Christ, Congregational, 81 High St., Suffield. Sunday, March 24 10 a.m.: Palm Sunday Worship Service with the Procession of the Palms. The Chancel Choir and Bell Choirs will combine and collaborate with a visiting Brass Quintet, conducted by Linda Seabury. The quintet will perform brass and organ sacred chamber music throughout the Palm Sunday Service. Thursday, March 28 7 p.m.: Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service with communion. Friday, March 29, noon: Good Friday Meditative Service in the Chapel. Sunday, March 31 6 a. m.: Ecumenical Sunrise Service at Sunrise Park conducted by Suffield town clergy. Coffee and doughnuts following the service at West Suffield Congregational Church. Sunday, March 31 10 a. m.: Festival Easter Worship Service. Meditation by Sr. Pastor, Bridget Fidler. Visiting bass Steve Valenzuela will sing “The Trumpet Shall Sound” from Handel’s Messiah and the Chancel Choir will present the iconic “Hallelujah!” chorus in celebration.
