REGION- The Community Foundation and United Way are teaming up to offer Hurricane Sandy relief to individuals, families and nonprofits Application deadline is March 25 for nonprofits ONLY; rolling deadline for individuals and families. Recognizing that many families and nonprofits along the coast and throughout eastern Connecticut are only slowly recovering from Hurricane Sandy, the Community Foundation and the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut earlier this month unveiled a special partnership to speed relief efforts along. Called "Our Communities United...Hurricane Sandy and Her Aftermath," the collaboration is offering applications for financial assistance until March 25. Individuals should call 2-1-1, a free call from anywhere in the state, 24 hours a day, to find a Recovery Fund Case Manager to help file an application.
