Lenten celebration

Danielson - posted Mar, 15 2013

DANIELSON- Westfield Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in Danielson has begun a new series of visual installations meant to encourage worshipers to delve deeper into their faith during the Lenten season. A canopy of purple fabric essentially cuts the space over the pews in half. The Rev. Jonathan Chapman said the installation echoes the Lenten call to self-discipline. On Easter Sunday, the installation will change to peach and coral-colored fabrics, representing the hope that lies in Resurrection. Join the experience with other worshipers each Sunday through Lent at 10 a.m., as well as Westfield’s Holy Week services: Holy Thursday service at 7 p.m. on March 28; Good Friday service at noon on March 29 sponsored by KBIC (Killingly-Brooklyn Interfaith Council), and at 10 a.m. March 31, the crowning service on Easter Sunday.
