Safe boating course

THOMPSON-[ The Thompson Recreation Commission is presenting a CT Safe Boating Course for all boat and jet ski owners. This course is required by the state in order to register or operate a boat or personal watercraft. The 4-session (9 hour) course will run Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, April 2, 3, 9, 10, 2013 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in Thompson. You must attend all four sessions in order to be eligible for the certificate. This 9-hour course includes instruction on navigation, CT boating law, legal requirements, safety afloat and other topics that will help participants become safe, knowledgeable and responsible boaters. Persons successfully completing the course will fulfill the requirements for the Certificate of Boating Operation & Personal Watercraft Safety. Price is $10 for Thompson residents and $15 for non-residents. Registration ends when the class is full. Limited number of seats, so register right away. Pre-registration is required.
