SOMERS - The Somers Historical Museum is open with new displays. A diorama of a typical Nipmuc village and a large framed collection of arrowheads found in Somers were added to our collection. These were part of the Somers Indian Museum, and have been donated to the Somers Historical Museum. The museum also has a Civil War rife on loan, for a limited time, from a local family. A wooden leg brace of Dr. W. Woods, a Civil War doctor, can be seen along with photos of Dr. W. Woods, and other Somers Civil War veterans. The museum is free and open to the public. For more information, call 860-749-6437.
