GLASTONBURY - The Glastonbury 5K River Run is an annual event that takes place along the scenic Connecticut River and the farmlands of South Glastonbury. It is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. on High Street, South Glastonbury. To register for the Glastonbury 5K River Run online, visit and select the Glastonbury River Run under events. You may also register the day of the race from 9 to 10 a.m. at High Street and Main in the parking lot of the Congregational Church of South Glastonbury. Prizes are given to the top three runners in each category, by age and gender. This Hartford Marathon Foundation sponsors this race which is enjoyed by hundreds of runners. The Glastonbury 5K River Run is a fundraiser for the Glastonbury High School Crew Team. Approximately 80 percent of the team’s funds come from donations and fundraisers like the annual Glastonbury 5K River Run. Many GHS Crew Team members and their families will be staffing the race course or running the race.
