MANCHESTER - On Thursday, April 11 at Manchester High School, the MHS Band’s Professional Concert Series continues with music by the Jeff Holms Big Band. The pros play at 7:30 p.m., but plan to arrive at 7 p.m. to be entertained by the Manchester High School Jazz Ensemble beginning at 7 p.m. The Jeff Holmes Big Band (JHBB) is comprised of jazz musicians and music educators living/working in the NYC to Vermont corridor, and featuring compositions and arrangements by its leader. The JHBB repertoire draws from both originals and arrangements of the music of Duke Ellington, Paul Simon, Sting, Don Grolnick, George Benson, and more. Manchester’s own resident Don Clough, plays most of the lead trumpet in the JHBB.
