COLCHESTER- The following programs will take place at the Cragin Memorial Library Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19. All children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Friends of the Cragin Memorial Library is funding these programs. Monday, April 15: Spring Fling Film: Hotel Transylvania, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Come to the library and enjoy a free children’s movie on our 8 foot screen! Free popcorn. Rated PG. Open to all; no registration required. Tuesday, April 16: Magic of Chris, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Chris has just the right mix of magic and comedy to entertain all. Best for school age children and their parents or caregivers. No registration. Wednesday, April 17: The Great Masters Creative Art Program, 1– 2:45 p.m. For children in grades 1-5. Create your own masterpiece in the style of famous artist Andy Warhol. No art experience is necessary. This program is free and materials are provided but space is limited. Please register. Wednesday, April 17: Open Craft Room, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drop in to trhe Open Craft Room to make a fun Earth Day craft to bring home. Open to all ages. No registration. Toy Puppet Theater Workshops: Two Days: Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19 Day One: Choosing a story and writing a script. Day Two: Building the theater. Attention kids! Grandparents! Friends! Siblings! Join Mrs. Sharon Murphy-Boski for a creative intergenerational workshop. Become a master of the theater as you learn to write your own script, plan out your puppet show, and build your own mini puppet theater, puppets and sets. This is not recommended as a solo activity; bring along a partner or two! All ages are welcome but children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. We will provide the boxes and all materials; you supply the imagination. Registration is required; space is limited to 10 groups. All programs are free and open to all.
