Canterbury - posted Mar, 29 2013

CANTERBURY-The Prudence Crandall Museum Junior Docent Training Program will be held on Thursday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This program is for girls and boys between the ages of 14 and 18 who have an interest in history and enjoy working with the public. The training will be conducted by Museum curator Kaz Kozlowski, and will include discussion, in-depth tour of the museum, and a question and answer period. There is no cost to participate, but the Junior Docents will be required to work at the museum at least one day (6 hours) every month from May through November and will attend additional training days to be held later in the season. Junior docents will work with adult docents and the museum staff throughout the season to gain the expertise and knowledge necessary to work with the museum's visitors. The museum is located at 1 South Canterbury Road in Canterbury. For more information, call the museum at 860-546-7800 or e-mail crandall.museum@ct.gov
