COLCHESTER- Members of the Colchester Lions’ Club will be participating in its annual Sight Saver Day from April 19-21. This event is the one time a year that Lions Clubs throughout Connecticut solicit donations for the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation (CLERF). Lions will be outside of Colchester Stop and Shop and Noel’s collecting donations for CLERF. Every penny donated will be used to fund eye research. One example of this is CLERF’s funding for research targeted at finding a cure for Macular Degeneration. Colchester Lions will also have collection boxes for the donation of used glasses which are then distributed people in less developed nations who would not have access to eye glasses. Historically, Colchester has been a leader in their support of CLERF thanks to the generosity of the Colchester community. Thanks for your support. More information about the Colchester Lions can be found on our website http://www.colchesterlions.org/ and on Facebook at Colchester Lions Club.
