REGION- The Last Green Valley, Inc. (TLGV) is pleased to announce The Putnam Business Association’s Beautification Committee is the latest recipient of this year’s TLGV cleanup support in the amount of $500. The Putnam Beautification Day will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a complimentary cookout at Rotary Park immediately afterwards. The rain date is Sunday, April 28. The Beautification Committee is seeking volunteers to assist with the cleanup effort, and will join TLGV Chief Ranger Bill Reid, and rangers Marcy Dawley and Doug Berrisford. Volunteers are asked to contact Beautification Chair, Anna Zubkova at 860-928-3777 or email: email@example.com. Volunteers will meet at Rotary Park at 8:30 a.m., and will be divided into teams to work together to remove trash and litter throughout downtown Putnam. All necessary tools will be provided, including gloves and trash bags. There will also be a contest for the most trash collected. TLGV has been providing cleanup funds in celebration of April’s Earth Month for the past two years. Nonprofit organizations and municipal, regional, state or federal agencies that sponsor a 2013 Earth Month or River Cleanup in the region are invited to submit an application found on the TLGV website, www.tlgv.org.
