Street signs available

HEBRON- For the past several months Hebron street signs have been sold as part of an ongoing fundraiser for AHM Youth and Family Services. Late last year, the Hebron Board of Selectmen came up with a unique idea for the 150 street signs that had been removed from areas around town in place of new ones. In the process of deciding how to dispose of the old signs, the Hebron Board of Selectmen came up with the idea to put the old signs to good use. They donated them to AHM. And since that time AHM volunteers have raised more than $2,000 selling signs as holiday gifts, nostalgia items, and keepsakes. The signs have been catalogued and photographed and can be viewed in the foyer of the AHM Community Center on Pendleton Drive in Hebron. In the past year patrons have paid as little as $25 and in one instance of anonymity, a sign sold for $1,000. The identity of this most generous and now legendary donor is still not known today. The signs make great gifts for family members and neighbors wanting to hold onto a piece of local history. To purchase one of the remaining street signs, stop by the AHM offices on Pendleton Drive in Hebron, Monday through Friday during the month of April. Sales are first come first serve.
