REGION - On Sunday, May 5, Mary’s Place will be hosting its 1st Annual Memory Walk on the Windsor Town Green at 9:30 a.m. “Memories Worth Walking For” is dedicated to celebrating and honoring the memory of those close to us who have died. This event is chaired by 15-year old Miranda Fitzpatrick of Canton whose idea it was to develop a community and family event which would include the children. Fitzpatrick’s committee consists of several children and teens who are present or past participants of Mary’s Place. This moving fundraiser brings together families, friends and the community to support programs at Mary’s Place. Honor the memory of a loved one, and help make a difference in the lives of grieving children, teens, and families by joining us for this event. To walk or sponsor the event please visit or call 860-688-9621. All registrations and sponsorships must be received by April 15, 2013. Pre-registration is required to receive a T-shirt. Mary’s Place, A Center for Grieving Children and Families, a non-profit organization in Windsor, provides a safe place in which children, teens and families who are grieving a death share their experiences, receive support and find comfort. The center serves families throughout Connecticut and Southwestern Massachusetts. All programs are offered at no cost to the families. The center relies on donations and fundraising to run its programs.
