Earth Day celebration

LEBANON- Lebanon Earth Day 2013 sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 58 will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday April 27; rain date April 28. The information booth will be located at the public parking lot, Route 87 between the museum and community center. For the entire month of April, Lebanon residents may pick up trash bags prior to April 27 in the First Selectman’s Office. Residents can clean up roadsides and lay filled bags off the paved edge of road and contact 642-6100 for Garage to pick up, on April 27 bring to the Transfer Station at no cost for disposal or bring to the town dump truck at the library parking lot. Everyone is encouraged to participate, including youth groups, Scout troops and dens, sports teams, middle and high school clubs, adult groups, families and individuals. Participants are asked to bring work gloves, rakes, shovels or trowels. Each participant will receive a seedling to take home. For more information contact Armand at 860-642-6340 or
