NORWICH – The William W. Backus Hospital will host the fifth annual Pink Fair on Wednesday, May 1, from 4-6 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby conference rooms This event will focus on women’s health and wellness and will include free screenings, including bone densitometry and blood pressure. A separate dedication ceremony will honor the new Boutique at Backus, a resource for cancer patients and their families, from 3:30 to 4 p.m. in the Backus Medical Office Building entrance. . Other highlights include: the Backus Breast Health Patient Navigator program, which helps guide women through the healthcare system after they receive a suspicious mammogram; insurance options for women and families; complementary therapies available through the Backus Center for Healthcare Integration (CHI); healthy eating and nutrition tips from Backus Dietitians; Backus surgeons; lymphedema specialists; the latest diagnostic imaging technology; palliative care; advanced directives; Backus Home Health Care; and skin cancer screenings from Advanced Dermatology.
