SALEM- The Salem Public Library is holding a poetry contest for all ages, sponsored by the Friends of Salem Library. Applications for the contest are on-line at http://www.salemct.gov/Pages/SalemCT_Library/index or at the Salem Library. The Salem Free Public Library is located at 264 Hartford Rd. (Rte. 85) The phone number is 860 859-1130. Participants must reside in the New London or Middlesex Counties of Connecticut Age categories are: Ages 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-18, and Adults 18+ (participants still in high school or the home-school equivalent should apply as Teens). Poems must be accompanied by the poetry application form. Please enter only one original poem per person. Please do not submit your only copy of your poem as it will not be returned to you. The poems should be 50 lines or less. The poems must be typed, double-spaced, in a Times New Roman 12-point font. The decision of the judges will be final. Entries must be postmarked April 30, or delivered to the library on that date by 7:30 p.m.
